I grow rambling roses in the trees at my property line, and my favorite is Rosa ‘Apple Blossom’ for its massive, delicate beautiful pink flowers.

To celebrate the flower truss I have made two different studies, the first a PhotoBotanic illustration from a wonderful truss I brought into the studio. (seen above).

Then I did an extraction to show a flower truss actually on the rose.

I like the extraction process, showing the botanic illustration as part of the garden, not simply as a studio study. More in the book…
