holt_2015_0157.CR2I spent the afternoon painting.  The Ceanothus ‘Ray Hartman in my garden is in full bloom and my camera by itself could not do it justice .

It’s an odd phrase to use as a photographer, “painting”. The filter tools in photoshops are called brushes and pencils and the effects are certainly painterly, but there is no splatter, no smell, no paper texture to receive the ink.  The process is all electronic, though there is quite a bit of finesse of the many filter controls as I go back and forth trying this, erasing that.

Before and After Slider

Every time I explore these painting tools I do it differently.  I should keep notes just in case I want to do it again; but really I don’t want to do it again.  I don’t want a formula, every time is different.

Still learning, still having fun.
